ESTA vs. US Visa: What’s the Difference and Which Do You Need?

ESTA is not a U.S. visa. When comparing ESTA oder Visa USA, it is important to understand that ESTA is an electronic travel authorization required in advance for nationals of Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries who are traveling to the United States for tourism or business for up to 90 days.
In contrast, a U.S. visa is a separate entry permit required for cases where entry is not allowed under ESTA, such as study, employment, or long-term stay.

Therefore, if you are eligible for the Visa Waiver Program and are traveling to the United States for tourism or short-term business for 90 days or less, ESTA is required.
If you are planning a trip to the United States, please check your travel purpose and length of stay, and apply for ESTA before departure.
